The best hours to book a transatlantic call
There are exactly four comfortable hours between London and New York, and three of them are already full. Here is the hour-by-hour map.

The genuine sweet spot is 15:00–16:00 London, which is 10:00–11:00 in New York: after the American morning admin, before the European day ends.
Adding the west coast
San Francisco is three hours behind New York, which removes most of the comfortable range:

17:00 London is the only hour that is inside normal working time in all three places, and it is the end of the European day. Treat it as scarce.
Central Europe shifts everything an hour
Berlin, Paris, Madrid and Amsterdam are an hour ahead of London, so the same New York slot lands an hour later locally. A 15:00 London call is 16:00 in Berlin — still fine. A 17:00 London call is 18:00 in Berlin, which is not.
Rules of thumb
- Book the US east coast between 14:00 and 16:00 London.
- Book the US west coast at 16:00–17:00 London, and no more than weekly.
- Avoid the first hour of anyone's morning for anything requiring decisions.
- Check the date in March and late October before trusting any of the above.
Central Europe, hour by hour

What about Chicago and Denver?
Central Time is one hour behind New York and Mountain two. A 15:00 London call is 09:00 in Chicago and 08:00 in Denver — both workable. Push to 16:00 London and Denver becomes 09:00, which is the most comfortable single slot for a London–Denver pair.
The three weeks nobody diaries
The US changes clocks on the second Sunday in March, the EU on the last. In between, every table on this page shifts by an hour: a 15:00 London call becomes 10:00 in New York rather than 09:00. In autumn the mismatch runs the other way for about a week.
Practical response: put two recurring reminders in your calendar, one in early March and one in late October, to re-check any standing transatlantic slot.
Meeting hygiene at the edges
- Anything before 09:00 for a participant should be optional or very short.
- Anything after 18:00 local needs a reason and a rotation.
- Leave five minutes at the top — cross-region calls lose more time to joining than to arithmetic.
- Record decisions in writing regardless; not everyone who needs them will be on the call.

15:00–16:00 London, which is 10:00–11:00 New York, is the widest comfortable window between Europe and the American east coast. Guard it for the conversations that genuinely need to be live.
